Picnic Shelters

New accessible picnic tables and accessible grills are being added to several picnic shelters throughout the park system. Work will continue through the end of the year on the installation of new concrete grill pads and the securing of picnic tables in arrangements that allow for unobstructed movement around them. Updates to the picnic shelter rental information on our website are also being made. The information being added to the shelter pages focuses on accessible features at and around each shelter.

 

Golf Cart

An accessible golf cart is available at the Hudson Mills Metropark golf course. Reservations can be made by calling the course, 734-426-0466, a minimum of 24 hours in advance.

Project construction/completion updates

Update: A groundbreaking ceremony was held on July 14th at Delhi Metropark for the much-anticipated Zeeb Road to Delhi Metropark segment of the Border to Trail! Read more here.

Construction on Phase II of the Zeeb to Delhi trail segment has begun! This project adds 1.3 miles of trail extending from Zeeb Road to East Delhi Road and includes the fourth B2B Trail bridge over the Huron River.  As of November 11, we see great progress on the retaining walls along this segment!

Trail Access and Description

This Border to Border Trail corridor connects downtown Dexter to the Dexter-Huron and Delhi Metroparks, following the Huron River toward Ann Arbor.

Visitors will experience a rural landscape in a park setting featuring riverfront views, woodlands, and scenic prairie environments.

Off-road segments include: 2.6 miles of trail from Central Street through Dexter-Huron Metropark to Zeeb, 0.65 miles of trail through Delhi Metropark.

Near term plans include 1.1 miles of off-road trail connecting Delhi Metropark to Wagner Road in 2022, while future plans will focus on completing the connection to Barton Nature Area along Huron River Drive.
