Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission (WCPARC) has officially adopted HWPI and the primary trail routes of The Loop as part of the Border-to-Border (B2B) Trail. Spearheaded by WCPARC, B2B represents a 10-year effort to link the open spaces of the Huron River Greenway with Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor and other communities by way of a multi-use, non-motorized pathway.

With the addition of The Loop, planned routes connecting Dexter, Chelsea and Stockbridge will continue B2B to the western border of Washtenaw County. This expansion will extend B2B to over 50 miles, and will provide a direct link to the state’s Iron Belle Trail System by connecting with the Lakelands State Trail in Stockbridge.

By combining forces with the WCPARC, HWPI enhances our opportunity to help create a highly attractive regional trail system that links our communities, businesses, and residents.
